Food
There are small stall almost on every street, everything is fresh (or at least it looks so :)) and prepared just in front of your eyes. We ate on street very often or in some low cost restaurants. The hygiene there is sometimes quite “dirty”, but the food tastes great. My colleagues warned me that Chinese cuisine is terrible and that it is hard to find proper KFC or McDonalds, but I was very happy with the local food. I simply ate what locals ate. We even had crickets and some other insects, donkey, some weird barbecued mushrooms, sea weed and lot of beer 🙂 I bought some Chinese wine, but I can’t recommend it, it is not very good.
You can bring your own drinks into a restaurant, and even ask the waiter for a beer opener and glasses.
